چکیده
Background/Purpose: Neonatal hearing screening results are affected by several perinatal and neonatal factors. It is known that false positivity (FP) in the failure of newborn increases parental concern anxiety has a negative impact on healthcare costs. There conflicting reports effect mode delivery results. This study aimed to investigate role comparing automated auditory brainstem (ABR) newborns born with vaginal (VD) or cesarean section (CS) identify factors associated first test results.
Methods: retrospective case-control was conducted at our obstetrics clinic between December 2018 June 2019. Following exclusion incomplete data, congenital chromosomal anomalies, CMV infection, anatomical deformities involving face ears, who received their

the sensitivity and specificity of automated auditory brainstem response and otoacoustic emission in neonatal hearing screening: a systematic review
background and aim: otoacoustic emissions (oae) and automated auditory brainstem response (aabr) are the most commonly-used methods for universal neonatal hearing screening (unhs). various sensitivity and specificity rates have been reported for the oae and aabr tests as tools for screening newborn hearing. the main objective of this review was to determine the pooled sensitivity and pooled spe...
متن کاملSensitivity of the Automated Auditory Brainstem Response in Neonatal Hearing Screening.
BACKGROUND In a 2-stage neonatal hearing screening protocol, if an infant fails the first-stage abstract screening with an otoacoustic emissions test, an automated auditory brainstem response (ABR)test is performed. The purpose of this study was to estimate the rate of hearing loss detected byfirst-stage otoacoustic emissions test but missed by second-stage automated ABR testing. METHODS The ...
متن کاملEffects of Delivery Mode on Short-term Neonatal Outcomes
Introduction: The risk of morbidity and mortality increases in neonates admitted to the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Various factors contribute to the prognosis of these newborns. In the current study, we aimed to investigate the role of mode of delivery on short-term neonatal outcomes. Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on 215 neonates admitted to the NICU of Shohada-e-T...
متن کاملEffects of Hyperbilirubinemia on Auditory Brainstem Response of Neonates Treated with Phototherapy
Introduction: One of the most common pathologies in neonates is hyperbilirubinemia, which is a good marker for damage to the central nervous system. The sensitivity of the auditory system to bilirubin has been previously documented, with much discrepancy in its effects on Auditory Brainstem Response results. Thus the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of hyperbilirubinemia on ...
